The short version
Meowtown is a shared place. These rules keep it cozy for everyone.
- Be kind. No bullying, no sharing personal details, no tricks to get other cats’ things.
- Kibble and Tickets are earned by playing. Items and currencies are part of the game, not real money.
- Anything you buy is a named item you can see first. Never a random box. Players under 13 need a grown-up’s OK.
- The game is new and keeps growing, so things will change and sometimes break. We’ll be fair about it.
Playing
These terms are an agreement between you and the small team in Israel that makes Catnip Club (“we”). By playing, you agree to them and to the way we handle information described on our Privacy page. If you’re under 18, please read them with a parent or guardian. They agree to them on your behalf.
- Anyone can explore as a guest. Saving your cat creates an account with a cat name and a password.
- Tell us your real birth year. It sets the safety settings for your age.
- Keep your password to yourself. One cat belongs to one player: don’t sell, swap or share accounts.
- Grown-ups can manage a child’s account in Family settings.
Be kind
Every cat in town agrees to:
- be friendly, and leave anyone alone who asks;
- never share personal details, such as a real name, address, school, phone number, social accounts or photos, and never ask for them;
- choose names, words and creations that are fine for young players;
- never cheat, use bots or scripts, exploit bugs, or try to get into other accounts or our systems;
- never trade or sell game items, currencies or accounts for real money or real things outside the game.
Use Report, Mute or Block on any cat that makes the town feel unsafe. Our moderators and filters can mute or pause a cat, rename it, remove things it made, or close its account. How far we go depends on how serious the problem is. If you think we got it wrong, write to us.
If you ever feel unsafe or someone asks to meet you, stop playing, tell a grown-up you trust and report that cat.
Items, coins and Yarn
Catnip Club has Kibble and Tickets, which you earn by playing, and Yarn, a premium currency that will be available to buy. Items, outfits, decorations, pets, passes and currencies are a licence to use them in the game. They aren’t property you own, they have no value outside the game, and they can’t be exchanged for money. You can trade them only with the in-game tools, where your family settings allow it.
If a bug or a cheat gives out items or currencies by mistake, we may remove them. If something you earned or bought disappears because of a fault on our side, tell us and we’ll put it right.
Buying things
The shop isn’t open yet. When it opens:
- everything for sale is shown first, with its price. We never sell random boxes or paid items with random contents;
- players under 13 can buy only with a grown-up’s approval or within an allowance that grown-up sets. Teens have a monthly spending limit;
- a payment company handles checkout and is named at the checkout. Its terms also apply to the payment;
- you get what you bought straight away. Refunds follow the law where you live and the payment company’s policy. If something went wrong, write to us and we’ll help;
- season passes and limited items say when they end. After that date they may not come back.
What’s yours and what’s ours
The things you make in the game, like your cat’s name, Cat Pad layouts and Dreams, stay yours. You let us store them, show them to other players and use them in the game, for example in the town newspaper or a showcase. You can delete them, and we may remove anything that breaks these rules.
Everything else, including the art, music, characters, code and the Catnip Club name, belongs to us. You may share screenshots and videos of your own play. Please don’t copy or sell our work.
The town changes
We’re building Catnip Club in the open and keep improving it. Places, games, items and prices can change. The game may sometimes be offline for updates or because of problems. Please don’t rely on it being available at a particular moment. If we ever close Catnip Club for good, we’ll tell players in the game in advance. We’ll also explain what happens to anything bought that hasn’t been used.
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top. For bigger changes we also tell you in the game before they apply.
Taking a break, or leaving
You can stop playing any time, and ask us to delete your account (see Privacy). We can pause or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these rules. When we do, we’ll tell you why unless that would put someone at risk.
The legal part
We work hard to make Catnip Club safe and fun, but we provide it “as is”. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, or for problems caused by other players, your device or your connection. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you that can’t be limited, including your consumer rights in your country, or our responsibility for anything the law doesn’t let us exclude.
These terms are governed by the law of Israel. You can also rely on the protections of the law where you live, and bring a claim in your local courts if that law allows.
